The annual worship ceremony for Yellow Emperor, who is widely regarded as the initiator of Chinese civilization and the ancestor of all Chinese, is to be held in Xinzheng, central China's Henan province on April 22, 2023, the third day of the third lunar month, according to a press conference held in Beijing on Monday morning.

Besides the worship ceremony held in XinZheng, the hometown of the Yellow Emperor, there will be online and overseas worship activities too, the press conference said.

The event will be broadcast live in a panoramic manner for the first time to present the Yellow Emperor's Hometown Scenic Spot, which will be fully opened this year after its upgrading, according to the press conference. Virtual reality technology is expected to be employed by the broadcast to simulate the early days of Chinese civilization and offer an immersive experience.

The annual ceremony is believed to be a grand event that builds stronger solidarity among all Chinese around the globe, fosters a stronger sense of community for the Chinese nation, and contributes to building a community with a shared future for mankind.  

With the theme of "Same Root, Same Ancestor, and Same Origin; Peace, Amity and Harmony," the event will include nine major grand worship rites, and be broadcast live on major Chinese and foreign platforms.

A series of relevant activities will be held on the sidelines of the worship ceremony, including a global Henan entrepreneurs convention, an international forum on Yellow Emperor culture, an exhibition of calligraphy masterpieces of Chinese artists, and a short film festival, the press conference said.

The ceremony, sponsored by the People's Government of Henan Province, the Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, and Association for Yan Huang Culture of China, and co-organized by the Xinzheng city government, will be co-hosted by Zhengzhou municipal government, and Zhengzhou Municipal Committee of the CPPCC.
