Twenty prize winners of the competition from South Africa, Egypt, Madagascar and other countries will accept their prizes in the Chinese capital, and start a five-day exploration to experience Chinese modernization, and contribute their part to the building of a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
"My Chinese Story" China-Africa Photo and Video Competition was jointly sponsored by the Secretariat of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the China Public Diplomacy Association, and organized by Global Times Online.
Since its inauguration in February this year, the competition has been joined by a wide array of people who witnessed, joined, recorded and promoted the comprehensive and high-quality development of China-Africa relations at various levels. It received more than 2,600 entries from over 800 participants in 58 countries.
A hundred of these entries stood out and won prizes. An exhibition of award-winning entries will be held on the sideline of the award ceremony, to showcase the touching stories and fruitful results of China-Africa friendship.
During the five-day visit which starts on Oct. 30 and ends on Nov. 3, prize winners will be invited to visit Beijing landmarks such as the Palace Museum and the Great Wall, experience the charm of Chinese culture and art at Rong Bao Zhai and Lao She Teahouse, and learn about China's innovation-driven sustainable development at the offices of Chinese high-tech firms.
